Chris's formal background is in Art: drawing, painting and art history. He holds a terminal degree: the MFA. Terminal, that is, in that in earning the degree, Chris learned that he and academia were not a good fit.
Chris believes that art and utility are inseparable and at their best in good design.
Moving water is a theme of Chris's off-work activities which include canoeing, fly fishing and kayaking. Winter pursuits include fly tying and bamboo fly rod building.
Chris shares his timber frame home, adjacent to the shop, with his dog "Wag".
